WINDOW AND DOOR ENERGY RATINGS

Window and door energy ratings indicate how efficiently a window or door system controls heat transfer, sunlight, and air leakage. These ratings help determine the product’s ability to improve indoor comfort, reduce energy consumption, and enhance overall building performance.

VITROVIZION ENERGY RATINGS

They are specific ratings of glass and frame combinations that have been independently simulated and then passed through an audit process by WERS for independent companies.

Energy-efficient windows and doors are evaluated using key performance parameters such as U-Value, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), Visible Light Transmission (VLT), and Air Leakage. A lower U-value indicates better thermal insulation, while a lower SHGC reduces unwanted heat from sunlight. Higher VLT allows more natural daylight without excessive heat gain, contributing to energy savings and occupant comfort.

High-performance window and door systems with advanced glazing, low-E coatings, insulated frames, and airtight sealing significantly reduce heating and cooling loads. As a result, they support sustainable building design, lower electricity costs, and improve environmental performance. Energy-rated windows and doors are widely used in residential, commercial, and architectural projects to meet modern energy efficiency standards and green building requirements.
